Connecting to USC Secure Wireless (Windows)

Windows (Vista and 7)

  1. Open Control Panel and select Network and Sharing Center

  1. Select Manage wireless networks on the left hand side of the window.

  1. Click on Add

  1. Select the Manually create a network profile option

  1. Fill in the values as follows:
    • Network name: USC Secure Wireless
    • Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    • Encryption type: AES (should already be selected by default)

  1. Select Change connection settings

  1. Select the Security tab and click on the Settings button found next to ‘Choose a network authentication method:’

    • Check the Validate server certificate box
    • SelectConfigure…‘ button
      wireless_9
    • UncheckAutomatically use my Windows logon name and password’ box and click on ‘OK

  1. Click on ‘Advanced settings’ in the ‘Security’ tab.
  2. Check the ‘Specify authentication mode:’ box and selectUser authentication’ option from the drop down menu
